Coastal Hair and Makeup FAQ’s

Are you available for my wedding?

  • Get in touch through our enquiry page, we’d love to hear from you.
  • Please include as much relevant information as possible.
  • If we are available for your wedding day, we will provide an estimation. We understand, it’s early days and there will be time to confirm exact numbers at a later date.

If we are not available, we will refer you to another artist.

How Can I book?

  • If you are happy with the estimation and would like to secure your date, then we will provide you with details on how to pay the deposit.


About deposits

  • The deposit is $110 which is deducted off the end total.
  • The date is not secured until your deposit is received.
  • Additional artists (for larger bridal parties) cannot be secured until deposit is received.
  • An enquiry and subsequent communication does not mean that the date is ‘on hold’ 
  • We can be booked 12 months in advance and have multiple enquiries for a particular date.

Travel / early morning fees / surcharges

  • NO travel fee on the Mornington Peninsula
  • NO early morning fee
  • NO surcharges

In the instance that your wedding is not on the Mornington Peninsula and requires valet or parking fees, we can discuss that as appropriate.


Final payment

  • 3 months before your wedding, we will confirm numbers and services.
  • Your statement of services will be issued 
  • Once your statement of service is issued you cannot reduce numbers numbers – your total will be as per your statement of service
  • We can add numbers if time permits but you should let us know ASAP.

About trials

  • All trials will be held at my home studio in Blairgowrie.
  • Trials will not usually be held on Saturdays between September – April. Please feel free to ask but don’t be disappointed if Saturday trials are not possible.

Can you cater for large parties?

Yes, I have a trusted circle of colleagues who all call on each other frequently.

I will always do the Bride’s hair and makeup and the makeup for the bridal party.  My colleague will do the bridal party’s hair (or make up when required). 

Can I book for just hair or makeup?

Yes, I understand in some circumstances you may have a favourite hair or makeup artist and I am quite happy to work in conjunction with your chosen artist.

Wedding day timing and setup

Generally speaking, it takes 1 hour per hair, 1 hour per makeup with extra time required for arrival, setup and sanitising.

Pricing

MAKEUP:

  • All makeup is $110 per person (includes touch up kit – see below).
    Pre-teen / young teen / kids’ makeup – includes a sweep of shadow, mascara gloss (no foundation). This is complimentary if time permits and must be organised before the day. (Does not include touch up kit or ritual)

HAIR:

  • All hair is $110 per person
    Toddlers POA

Mothers of the bride, groom and/or grandmothers who require a basic short hair blow-dry (no heated tools / no 1/2 ups etc) is $80.

What is in a touch up kit?

Each makeup client will receive:

  • Toothpick / floss
  • Mints
  • Eye drop vial 
  • Lip colour / lip brush (if required)
  • Translucent powder & sponge 
  • Oil absorbing paper
  • Cotton tip
  • Tissue 

Each bridal party will receive 1
travel size hairspray and a selection of bobby pins.

What is a pre-makeup ritual?

Properly prepared skin accepts and holds makeup ensuring ultimate result.

Our signature ritual includes:

  • Enzymatic cleanser
  • Calming tonner
  • Mask / hydrogels

Suitable skincare and primer dependent on skin type and desired result.

We also recommend a skincare regime and to drink lots of water in the lead up to the big day.

What is your Covid-19 policy?

Our client’s health and safety are of the upmost importance to the team at Coastal Hair and Makeup.

Up-to-date procedures are followed at all times to ensure we operate within government guidelines.

Extra attention is taken to complete thorough sanitising of any beauty tools and equipment. In turn we ask all clients to ensure they are following government health regulations and adhere to any isolating that may be required if travelling from interstate.
